Swedish National Fiddler Leif Alpsjö plays traditional folkmusik on Nyckelharpa

Leif Alpsjö became a Swedish National Fiddler with the violin in 1974, an honorary member of the Uplands nation in 1991 and one of the pioneers in spreading the nyckelharpa in the western world and Japan and in 1995 starting ANA, the American Nyckelharpa Association. Leif has been in close contact with most of Uppland's tradition bearers in playing, singing and dancing and he is today himself a significant bearer of tradition. The name "Leif" (Viking-age Leivur) means "heir". Leif offers a varied mix of tunes on violin and nyckelharpa, some songs and stories, which makes it more interesting to listen to the music. Over the years, the interpretations have become increasingly important for Leif at the same time as the rhythm in songs, walking and dancing tunes. Welcome to an interesting and pleasant concert. Parts of the presentations will be in English.

Come and try Falun Dafa Qigong-exercises on the Cultural Night! Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) is an ancient Chinese qigong method for cultivating body and mind. The exercises are suitable for all, regardless of age and past experience, and are always free. The cultivation of the heart and mind is guided by the universal principles: Zhen (truth, truthfulness), Shan (benevolence, compassion, kindness), Ren (patience, tolerance, forbearance). Body cultivation is done by performing the five gentle qigong exercises, one of which is a seated meditation. With the combination of easy-to-learn exercises and universal principles, this holistic way of living is known to help the practitioner achieve a harmonious and balanced life in the high pace of today's society.
